The Food Bank

Nearly everything we do at Second Harvest Heartland revolves around our Food Bank Program. Working with our network of partners, volunteers and donors as well as people like you, Second Harvest Heartland is able to constantly receive and distribute donations great and small into our 90,000+ square feet of dry, refrigerator and freezer space. Our fleet of trucks travels nearly half a million miles a year, picking up food donations and delivering them to nearly 1,000 local food shelves, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, senior community centers and children's after school programs.

There are a number of ways to get involved with this efficient, effective program.

If you’d like to donate pallets or truckloads of goods, please call Tony Mans, Director of Food Sourcing, at 651.209.7956 for delivery or tax deduction information.

If you’d like to volunteer at the Food Bank or any Second Harvest Heartland program, please call Jane Shade, Volunteer Coordinator, at 651.209.7917.

If you’d like more information about how your food shelf, soup kitchen, shelter or other qualifying program can receive food from the Second Harvest Heartland Food Bank Program in the ongoing fight against hunger, call 651.484.5117.

The fight against hunger is one we will win, but we can’t do it alone. Join us, won’t you?
