Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP)

Through the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), Second Harvest Heartland provides a box of nutritious food each month to low income seniors 60 years and over through the Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors (NAPS).

Program participants are given a highly nutritious food package, depending on their nutritional needs as determined by the USDA. The packages may include canned fruits, vegetables and juices, dry and UHT milk, American cheese, canned meat, peanut butter or dried beans, cereal, rice or pasta.

Qualifying participants must be seniors at 130% poverty level.

Eligible clients are required to provide recently postmarked mail with name and address, knowledge of current gross monthly household income, and picture ID.

Register for the Commodity Supplemental Food Program through Second Harvest Heartland. Satellite distribution centers are located at more than 150 sites throughout Minnesota.

If you think you may be eligible for CSFP or know someone who may require assistance, please call 651.484.8241 or toll free at 800.365.0270 for more information.

The Commodity Supplemental Food Program is one of the foundational services provided by Second Harvest Heartland, placing the food directly where it’s needed most. But the program wouldn’t work without our valuable volunteers. To volunteer to work with CSFP, please call Jessica Hultgren, Director of Volunteer Services at 651.209.7939.
